This is a new scan and repost of a previous posting to this site. I was able to clean up the scratches and adjust contrast etc.
This is CSX 3012, a Shelby competition Cobra. It is a big block car, powered by the famous Ford 427 cu side oiler. It was purchased by Lothar Motschenbacher of Encino California in early 1965 and driven competitively by him that year, but sold back to Shelby American Racing later that same year. I attended the Santa Barbara Road Races in May of 1965 and took the picture there. I used my dad's Yashica Pentamatic 1 35mm SLR camera with auto Yashinon 55 mm f/1.8 lens, loaded with Kodak Plus X Pan film, black & white. Prints are available.
