That was taken with the digital zoom, right? I agree it's too soft. It's not going to pass for fine art. But maybe this is an example of what the digital zoom is good for - when it's all you've got and you want the shot, regardless of quality.

I live in a remote part of Vernon Parish Louisiana where you have to get around with a 4 wheel drive for part of the year. Yesterday I came up on this herd and they scattered like a covey of quail so it is very hard to get a shot of them. All of these shots are from quite a distance and the horses are constantly moving. But you are right the shots are all done with a digital zoom because that is all I have.
