Michael, not sure if it's the lens since I've read so many poor reports on this lens (which I just got for xmas) but it seems that the focal was so much sharper on the sand before the boy and the boy is really soft. What is your take on the lens and did you mean for him to be blurred? How far were you from your subject? I'd love your input before I open the box...
I am so sorry for the extra late reply, but I was actually trying to focus on the dump truck closest to the camera. However, you are right, I think I would buy a different lens if I could do it all over. I have got some very good photos out of it though. You are also right in suggesting the length, I was quite a ways away from the child.
