Love this one Cathy....i think the green leaf adds some nice color and texture to this one. Don't worry..you camera will get fixed in time for the trip...fingers crossed.

My camera is at Olympus headquarters at the moment. I should be getting an estimate via email any minute now. (I'm such an optimist to think it'd be today that I'd hear back). They will tell something like $150 to repair and also give me a trade up value towards a refurbished newer Olympus - from the most basic up to their DSLR series. *sigh* I am clueless. I've run through the options over and over in my head as to what to do on my limited budget. I just know I've learned that my digital camera is so much more a need in my life than a want!
In any case, I think our family still wants a point&shoot for regular "stuff" such as my husband's camping trips as scoutmaster of a boy scout troop. But I still want to take the big step to DSLR. I just dunno. I read a review here on an Olympus 750 sw that looks perfect for him but not for me!
I'll send ya a message when I hear my options Larry. Maybe you can help me.
And I'll go look at my original here and see if crop-queen can get another version of this one. ;)
Oh, now I see more of your story--I say go for it and get the DSLR. I had a hard time deciding, but I went for it and haven't regretted it--it opens up whole new worlds. Just keep a point & shoot in your purse or pocket for those times when you don't have the big one on hand.
