The utter vastness of this wonder absolutely overwhlemed each member of my family (it's hard to overwhelm teenge boys). It also overwhelmed my handy little point and shoot camera. These pictures do not do the Canyon justice by any means.

Nice nature on the seria.
just_yo, I Note most of you pictures are not saturated enough. May be it is particularity of the camera adjusting. I know that there are many inside. Try to adjust. What is your opinion? May be I am wrong?

This is a very nice attempt. I know what you mean about overwhelming the equipment you had available. Just another great example (or reason if you need one) why you should upgrade. This image is sure nothing to be ashamed of regardless of how overwhelmed you or the equipment seemed.. Nice Job.

Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Upgrading is a problem in that it's a toss up between new computer and new camera if the money were even there! I guess ebay is safe for camera purchases? Any advice there?

I do up the saturation in a lot of my photos but I like to stay true as to the original as I can. Most of my Grand Canyon pics needed LOTS more help than usual I guess due to distance. I'll go play with this one some more as I usually try to follow up on all the comments to be able to learn. I have a free program for quick fixes but I may take it a step further this time.

I was in awe of just how large and far reaching the canyon is. A more sophisticated camera (and photographer!) would have done better. Many of my pictures have a gray hue from the sheer distance away from the details.

Also we spent the morning in the Emergency Clinic at the Grand Canyon with one of my kids, so by the time we REALLY saw the canyon, I was getting over a very shaky time! (The kid was fine overall)

The gray hue you refer to is something that could be minimized with a haze or UV filter used by most photographers on there lenses. A polarizing filter can also help to bring out the sky. Both of these are pretty standard with slr and dslr users. As for the money to upgrade I know how you feel. When the kids were little and the the budget was tight I never used family funds for photography. I would find some way to earn a little with the camera to upgrade or bu y new equipment.

Very nice colors. Yes.E-bay is o.k. I recommend only Cameta Camera.An e-bay store. These guys are the best of the best.at over 170,000 positive feedback.You know you can't go wrong.They are a factory authorized Nikon dealer. :thumbsup:

They carry all makes, models...ect. Put aside 80.00 a month and in 10 months you can get a D80
