I know I will be hearing about this "hot spot" stuff. I honestly don't know how to fix these things. I need some help with this. All I have is my Canon software...do I need to purchase some program? How do I fix these things?
Way to start my day with some beautiful color. You probably took this with a direct flash is that right? If so you need to back of you flash strength. I'm afraid I don't know enough about the Canon's to help on how to do that. Next time my daughter is home I'll try and read up a little on hers.Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

OK if no flash than Here once again is where you need to meter the brightest portion of the image, lock in the exposure and than recompose and shoot. I'm not familiar with you camera so I can't give exact instructions. However (and I know you don't want to hear this but) that probably can't be done while in auto. Sorry....
PS: I can't get either one of my daughter out of Auto either. They both have the potential to be very fine photographers.Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Looking at this image on my home monitor and I like it much better not nearly as blown highlight as it appeared on the office monitor. Nice.Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Dana, nice shot. If you have the A620 manuel check out the section on the Histogram function. If it goes all the way to right you will have blown highlights (too bright). After you take a shot check this immediately. You can correct this by adjusting the exposure compensation.
Take it to the minus 1 or 2 and shoot again until the white moves away from the right side. It sounds difficult but if you practice this you will find your exposures will be right on.
It takes all the guesswork out of getting the proper exposure. Hope this helps.Jack Cunninghamhttp://www.photoartbycunningham.com
