Dana,have you ever been in a real hail storm? If not stay out!
Over forty years ago in the Summer of 1958 I traveled for the season with a friends family who came from both Colorado and Wyoming. While in Wyoming we drove to a cabin they owned West of Laramie,up in the hills it was a beautiful day when all of a sudden a sheepherder rode past on his horse yelling for us to take cover, Hail!
It was the size of golf balls and damned near as hard,broke the windshield of the Jeep and my buddies finger as he held on to the door frame of the car.
A few moments later the Sun was back and the hail,looking much like your photo,was melting.
Oh Steve...could I tell you stories of a hail storm? It was the summer of 1995 in Fort Worth. My husband and I had our granddaughter with us at an event called Mayfest. They announced for everyone to leave the grounds..we all started running to the cars. We made it just as the hail started. It was baseball size and larger. They "came through" the windshield, the side windows and the back window of the car. Shattering glass all around us. We got on the floor and covered ourselves with the floor mats. Some of the people that didn't make it to their cars were killed by the hailstones. Yes, Steve, I've been in a hailstorm...lol....but thanks for asking. dana
