I think a tighter crop and shooting in color might add considerably more impact to this portrait. The t-shirt is a little distracting, editing out the lettering or cropping tighter would bring out more emphasis on the face. Still caught my attention though.

I think the cropping is nice,indeed a close up would still make for a great photo.I find with the cropping the way it is,it leaves alot to the imagination,like why is she in the woods,and personaly i find she is not looking at the camera directly,maybe something behind the camera man.Only thing i find that would be need would be more contrast.
