If you are going for the abstract this photo needs sharper focus or a focal point for the eye to grasp. With the G5 (one of my favorites) reset the Aperture (Av on the mode) to f8 and go for the wide angle. You'll want a tripod unless there is a lot of light. Move your focal point to an intersection of thirds (Photography 101) in a well lighted portion of the photo.
If this is representational, the photo lacks context. I'm guessing this is a metal bus or park bench along a wall (do I get the prize?) This isn't a bad subject or construction as you can return to it. To give it more reference put something in the picture, a sweater, a newpaper, a starbucks wrapper. Trash of any kind can do wonders. Avoid garbage like banana peels or apple cores unless they are you subject.

I like the shot at least the idea. What might have been interesting is to have lit the brickwork to offset the light of the bench top left corner? If you know what I mean? Cheers, S
