Super-chunk! Did you use the digital zoom for this? Those huge, lego-like pixels are why we don't like digital zoom. On the other hand, it does help you get long shots like this. Although, to most of us, this wouldn't be a photo that we'd share. It makes a useful digital "sketch," though. Now you can go back with a better camera and a long lens and shoot it right...

only with contrast....i agree too pixilated. i have been trying to stay off of the digital zoom.

But did you use the digital zoom on this one? If you didn't, I'd like to know why it's so chunky. If you find that you're regularly turning to the digital zoom to get long shots, maybe it's time to consider a new camera?

I suggest a New Canon S3iS.
The lense on this new Canon is way radical.It will fill your x-zoom needs :O)

It's an "almost" gorgeous shot, so I can't rate it. Too bad about the fuzziness, everything else is there. I can just squint to appreciate. You could use some cool post-processing effects to stylize it though.
yes, i did have it zoomed all of the way to it's max setting. this is a new camera and i'm still trying to get used to it so i probably won't be getting another camera for a while. i may have to go back to my nikon and lenses and get a scanner and use this sony as a quick shooter.

Just avoid using the digital zoom. Most compact digital cameras give you the option to turn it off, so that you can't use it. On the other hand, it can be a useful tool if you want to make photo "sketches." For instance, this photo is useful if you're thinking you might want to take the Nikon back for a better photo. On the other hand, you may not have a long enough lens with the Nikon, either. Usually the digital zoom gives you a lot of reach. No need to limit your use of the new camera, though. Just be aware of its strengths and shortcomings and use it accordingly.
Please post a review for your camera when you've had it long enough to have a well-rounded opinion. We could use more reviews for the compact Sony digitals.
