This time I brought the lowly kit lens from the D40 - 18-55 f3.5-5.6 , and realized the VR most had helped me in the past, as other times I tried panning was using a VR lens with a way higher keeper rate, another factor , is that previously I shot cars and bicycles which of course were traveling much faster and allowed the use of a higher shutter speed.
