CAPTION: A medical marijuana dispensary in my neighborhood...next to a bakery...

MY NEIGHBORHOOD MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY:
This is my neighborhood "medical marijuana" dispensary. For $35 a year, anyone can go see a "doctor" who will prescribe anyone "medical marijuana" for ailments like insomnia, back pain and any excuse imaginable.

The place I went to---I was able to see a doctor after waiting for 5 minutes. Since it was my first time, I really didn't know what to say and the doctor "implied" I was suffering from "insomnia." And I went with it. Five minutes later---and after paying $50---I left with my "medical marijuana prescription" that resembled more like a high school diploma in the Philippines.

With the original prescription, I can go to any of the over 500 medical marijuana dispensaries scattered throughout greater Los Angeles and buy up to an ounce a week. A gram costs an average of $18. Cities in L.A. have imposed a 10% tax on all gross sales of marijuana and its by-products by the dispensaries who also sell marijuana (THC)-laced candies, chocolate bars, lollipops, drops and even hemp beer!
