Taken at Point Peele National Park (the southern-most point in Canada). A popular site for seeing Monarch butterflies southward migration to Mexico from late August - November depending on the weather.

This one probably belong to the Fritillary family. Butterflies are very active during the day. They rotate around flowers to collect nectar. In the field if you approach too close too fast they would take off to another flower.
