That's really cool. I am very curious about how you got the background to appear to be spinning. It gives this photo a dynamic feel that just plain shallow depth-of-field wouldn't have. I dig it!

thank you both for your comments, the background was inspired in the fact that it was a windy day, I was trying to capture exactly that, wind, but the subject I picked (thistles) hardly swayed despite the gust .... so, back home, I tried to recreate the effect I had in mind with a motion blur filter. I used the gimp instead of ps for this, selecting the background and applying a radial motion blur which gives the swirl I was looking for (angle: 10). appreciate your interest, bye!
