Description}: Dark horizontal lines appearing on my photos from a couple of my cameras. I normally shoot alot of auto racing mostly at "dirt tracks" and where I get alot of dirt on me and on my cameras there is change some of the dirt could have scratched my image sensors and that is the reason for the scratches.

The previous, non-VC version gets awesome marks in the user reviews here, I've had great results with my Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 and my experience with Tamron's VC Vibration Compensation has been very good. Right now, I think this is one of the ultimate fast, standard zooms available for APS-C sensor DSLRs.

Sony Cybershot DSC-TX5 Waterproof Digital Camera

Description}: Sony announced their first waterproof digital point-and-shoot at PMA this year. The Sony Cybershot DSC-TX5 is, by far, the sleekest waterproof camera to be introduced. It's waterproof to 10 feet, shockproof from about 5 and apparently it also uses a Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor. I'll have to look into that sensor more. But in my experience, the waterproof cameras all have somewhat compromised image quality. That it uses the CMOS sensor indicates that Sony may be more serious than anyone else about the image quality with the new TX5.
