Description}: Calla lily is actually the common name for the zantedeschia genus. They all still share the same family though, the Araceae family. Learned much working this image. Shot with the Ricoh 500SE (Point and shoot). Post-edited in CS3 with a touch of Topaz Simplify "Watercolor" manually set, a dash of Gaussian Blur to the background, and some careful "Band-aiding" of any blemishes or unsightly spots on the pale white flower. This flower is a favorite of many - hope this image works for you.

A little cleaning with band-aid and filtering with Topaz Adjust and Topaz DeNoise. Ricoh Caplio SE500 used. Shot from the balcony at the Astor Crowne Plaza front balcony overlooking Canal St. Original is 28x150 inches.

Description}: The view from atop Sandia Mountain. Looking East from a vista point on the dirt road ascending to the top out of Placita, NM. 3 shots stitched in Photoshop CS3. Snap provided by Topaz Adjust. The dirt road up is rough - a 4x4 is the only recommended vehicle. This image was shot in the better weather days of early October 2009. Road is quite impassable now. Description}: Every photographer will have an opportunity to shoot a wedding if they wish to become involved with the process. It is a grinding process that demands perfection and leaves little room for error, or poor craftsmanship. I do NOT do weddings for pay or profit. I reserve my performance to young folks, friends of my children, or neighborhood kids that grow up and make this commitment. Most cannot afford quality, or are mislead by those pretending to be professional, (what a nightmare that it!). I see a wedding as a great exercise, (liken it to going to the gym for a workout), and it keeps me honed on the skill set needed to shoot structured events. Your comments?

Description}: This image was shot in full sunlight. I did some simple layering and tone adjustment to add this moon. I took the fence posts and ensured each had its own moon-cast shadow. A slight twitch of "Selenium" toning and this was the result. Not sure if this works - but I felt it did look light a night exposure and wanted to share it with you.

Description}: The perspective carries the viewer far off to the horizon. These tracks displace mega-tons of freight being transported from the West to the East Coast and back. Originally a color image. I tweaked the image to a black and white - worthy of the strength of the perspective. Enjoy.

Shiprock is an easy short trip south of the town of Shiprock, NM. I cloned out telephone poles that lie between the lens and my objective.

Description}: Two locomotives were put into action to handle this longer than usual passenger consist on the Cumbres and Toltec Historic Narrow Gauge R.R. out of Chama, N.M. I had to clone out 5 vehicles, 4 people, and various telephone lines to arrive at this finished image. - Enjoy!

Description}: This garden spider (Argiope aurantia), and her future offspring live on our front porch. Each year - we let the spiders go ahead and multiply as they are a truly beneficial visitor. A bit startling to come upon, but when nesting - they usually pic a corner of a door or window sill to set the nest. This nest sac is one of the largest we have seen in years. Wet weather this summer and the increase in small insects may be the reason. Hope you enjoy!

Description}: An island home, and the 140 year old Methodist Church. Shot these on my 6 mile hike I take every other day. Used the Ricoh Caplio 500 SE point and shoot. 8M original reworked/post-edit in Photoshop. This is a black and white post edit of the color image shown. - Enjoy Note: I apologize for all the duplications of the other shots. Description}: Digital FX. Photoshopped a North Carolina lightening bolt shot off my back balcony porch into a file photo of the Oakland Bay Bridge. Quite a bit of tone, color, and color replacement adjustments and a diagonal cross-hatch added to create rain on a rain free night. The beauty of digital rework allows one to express any thought they choose. This unlikely event hopefully captures the pleasure found in digital post processing. :-)
