Description}: another much milgned CZ lens. I feel sorry for zeiss some days. This lens design probably dates to the 1950's, and I doubt it's change much since then. The impressive thing is it will still hold its own with modern designed wides, and even embarrass a few of the better ones. A testament to Zeiss's excellent design, coatings and manufacturing. What I cant convey, try as I might, is the "3D" effect you get from CZ glass using tradional Photo Printing techniques. By the time I scan, reduce, and convert the neg/slide to a small jpeg, the effect is very dimminsihed, plus I loose quite a bit of color. The lens is rather slow wide open and soft at f/4 however at f/8 , the lens really sizzles. notice, verticals are vertical..horizontals are horizonal..no bowing or pin cushioning, very little fall off or distortion, and always excellent color. traits typical of all zeiss wides.
