Description}: Here I took 4 photos. Two of my face, and another two of my hands. Using photoshop, layered and used the erasure tool to blend them together. to get the faces on the hands, I used a large soft eraser brush, with different degrees of opacity.

Description}: With the camera mounted on tripod, I made use of the timer and photographed myself in the positions shown. I was lucky enough to get it right on the first attempt. Next I layered and masked away the unwanted portions using photoshop.

Description}: I took the photo of the Fish through the glass of my aquarium and avoided getting reflective particles in the water and glass by by pressing the lens against the glass and angling the externally attached flash upwards and holding a sheet of white card stock over the aquarium so the light would bounce back down onto the fish. Shooting straight on with the flash just made the water look murky. The ceramic clown mask I photographed at the childrens museum in London, Ontario. Next I brought both photos into photoshop, and masked around both fish and mask, added a black background layer, and made bubbles. Thus the ClownFish.

Description}: With the camera on tripod, I used the timer to capture the five arms and an empty background shot. I placed a coin on one of the steps to remind myself where the center of the body should go, and to help me position my arms appropriately. After all the potos were taken, I proceeded to use photoshops pen tool to create selections then masked each layer. Once masked, I went back under maximum zoom and used a soft fine brush to paint away telltale ghosting, or paint back portions I had ben sloppy one. :)

Description}: For this image I used 10 photos taken from a tripos with timer, and remote lighting. I placed dimes on the white sheet which I used to position my hands over in order to get the shoulders in the right place for masking later after stacking the photos into separate layers.

Description}: I used a Canon G2 Powershop for this self portrait, superimposed a photo of a zebra I also took, then went to work in photoshop. The roots were created by using the smudge tool, and dragging away from the image.

Description}: An exercise in masking with photoshop. Taking three photos, my daughter and I used the camera timer and posed together for the first capture, then each took a step back for the second, finally bending at the waste for the third. next it was an exercise in piling the three photos in layer, and masking out the unwanted portions.

Description}: To get this composition to work I fixed the camera on a tripod and used the self timer to capture myself balanced on a stool. After the stool capture, I removed it and captured the background. The rest was a matter of masking to eliminate the stool from the scene. The shadow was created by filling a duplicate of my body shape with black, applying Gaussian Blur and reducing the Opacity. A fun project to capture and create.
